“Alex is an excellent tutor. He is knowledgeable, professional, and patient. My son has made great progress and gained confidence in maths since starting lessons with him. I also appreciate the calm and focused learning environment. Small details matter, and the stable seating arrangement helps maintain concentration throughout the lesson, without the distractions that can come from bouncing or fidgeting. Highly recommended.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Prior to beginning tutoring with Alex, I (a student with dyscalculia, think maths dyslexia in a vastly oversimplified way) was extremely underconfident in mathematics. I dreaded and despised it so much that I couldn’t even think about anything to do with maths without a panic attack and I wholeheartedly believed that I was so inept at maths that I would never ever figure it out as the support of my schoolteachers was never enough to help me. After failing foundation maths in my GCSEs, my mum convinced me to try tutoring so I can ‘finally be rid of maths’ and in the weeks leading up to it, I was (to put it lightly) completely and utterly terrified. I sucked at maths so badly that I was lost in year 2 and never quite managed to catch up from there despite my best efforts. What could a tutor do that nobody in my life prior, including myself, could? Then I had my first trial lesson with Alex. We introduced ourselves and I explained my difficulties with maths, my anxiety around it and my troubles with dyscalculia. Alex expressed that he himself is dyslexic (a fact that has never ever negatively impacted his teaching, judging him by that means you are missing out on an outstanding tutor!) which made me feel seen. Not once during any of our sessions did I feel like a failure who can’t do simple things like I did throughout all of my time in school. I never felt like I was being talked down to or that I was being irritating or a burden by asking ‘obvious’ questions. For example, I’d ask a question about fractions (my absolute worst topic that I am now semi-confident in - which is a LOT better than I could’ve said even 6 months before!) and he would explain it as A. If I still didn’t get it, Alex would not be upset with me in any way. Instead, he would patiently explain it as B, then C, all the way until I understood it. Additionally, Alex always had materials on hyper-specific subjects on hand and could quickly put them on the virtual whiteboard with speed that always impressed me. You’re confused on anything at all? He’s there to help and he’ll do so in a way that made even myself believe that I actually had a chance to get the correct answer in a non-convoluted way. What am I trying to get at? I mean to say that Alex has managed to help me go from someone who was entirely lost and utterly hopeless surrounding maths to the point of extreme anxiety into someone who still struggles but not in any way similar to before our sessions. Before, I could do basic equations such as addition and subtraction but I would have to quite literally psych myself up to do even that without panicking severely. Now, I can manage calculus, trigonometry, algebra and my dreaded fractions with a slightly shaking hand but a confident mind. Perhaps Alex will not be the right fit for you, but he definitely was for me to the extent that I doubt anyone else would’ve been quite as helpful. Therefore, I implore you to give him a chance. He’s saved me and he can help you too. 5 stars from me 👍”

“Mr Alex is an amazing tutor. He doesn’t just teach how to solve questions, but he teaches the ideas and logic behind the maths, which made everything feel much more intuitive and interesting. He constantly made me think about why mathematical ideas work instead of just memorising methods. His teaching really changed the way I think about mathematics, and I’ve become much more confident thanks to him. Highly recommended!”

“Alex is by far the best math tutor my son has had. My son has completed 18 classes with Alex so far and he is wonderful in breaking down the concepts in a way that my 3rd grade son understands, as well as identifying what areas he is weaker in. Ever since starting his classes my son's math grades have improved and more importantly he has gained his confidence back. I am so grateful for Alex's patience, kindness and positive energy he is bringing to every class. Thank you.”
