“A brilliant mind may understand everything there is to know about a subject, but if they can't convey to others that same understanding, they should not be teaching. My son was struggling in AP Calculus, the first time he had encountered a problem with math. I made an appointment to talk to his teacher and found out why: his teacher was someone who was detached and wouldn't answer simple questions with simple answers, choosing to ramble on and on without directly addressing what was asked. I have to believe this is the way he teaches. I made a tutoring appointment with JoAnna and, within the hour, was able to get my son to understand concepts with which he was struggling. “My daughter has been working with Ms Stange, for approximately 3 weeks. I was a little apprehensive about bringing a tutor into my home to tutor my daughter, in Geometry, who is extremely shy by the way. Joanna immediately made her feel at ease, and adjusted her learning approach, based on my daughter's personality. On the first evening of tutoring, I began to hear my daughter laugh a little and ask questions during the session, and I knew Joanna had accomplished what I needed, on the very first night, which was to make April feel at ease, so she could learn her geometry concepts.
