“I decided to take the MCAT 3 years after I graduated college (and last saw most of the material that would be on the exam). When I started thinking about how I was going to study for the MCAT without direct college resources (and working), I had no idea where to start or how to organize the material over a few months. That's when I found CM's profile on Wyzant. With her background in the sciences, she has masterfully broken down the content into manageable lessons. She devised a 3-4 month 'curriculum' that consists of 1-2 30 minute group sessions that covers a specific topic, such as DNA replication or alcohol reacciones. In addition to her group videos that 'teach' each topic, she has corresponding homework problems and practice passages that are available to all her students. I love how she breaks down each concept to exactly what is covered on the MCAT, otherwise it would be overwhelming and very easy to fixate on irrelevant details for reaction mechanisms, etc. It has been amazingly nice to know exactly what I will study each day; while there is no way to avoid the sheer amount of studying that goes into the MCAT, I know that my time is well-spent following her lessons! Additionally, CM has SO MANY resources available on her page, such as practice exam, AAMC Section Bank questions, review books, and more; the sheer amount of study material she has found and uploaded is mind-boggling. I never had to buy a review book on my own! Finally, CM is incredibly responsive and flexible for individual sessions. “CM runs an MCAT prep group course that's very useful. She holds multiple online sessions daily covering all MCAT topics, reviewing main points of the content and going over practice problems with the group. The platform is interactive so you can ask questions as the lesson goes along, and also communicate with other group members. The lessons are designed so that you follow a logical trajectory of material - the topics jump around between the subjects but they make sense in terms of how they relate to each other in the MCAT and are designed to replicate the interdisciplinary nature of the exam. What I think is most helpful about the group is that you have access to tons of resources at all times. All the recordings from previous groups are available in the drop box as well as lots and lots of practice problems, homeworks, textbooks, and notes. You can go back and watch and re-watch videos for content, practice problems on your own and even ask questions as you go along through a nifty interactive drop box function (this lets you comment on any document or video which is great when a question comes up). This brings me to my final assessment - CM is really really good at getting back to your questions. She's available via text, email, and through the drop box chat. I ask A LOT of questions at all hours of the day (I'm PST and she's EST and still is able to respond to me at all hours!) and she always gets back to me really quickly (and if she can't fully answer on the spot she'll let me know she's in the middle of something and will respond more thoroughly later). “Cara Marie, Caramy, and Will are the best MCAT tutors out there. Starting out, I didn't know where to begin, and was overwhelmed by the amount of information that I needed to know. After having spent a few months with the three of them, I can confidently tell you that I attribute my tremendous growth in knowledge to them. They are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and willing to answer all of my stupidest questions. I've texted them questions that I've had difficulty with countless times, and they usually respond within minutes!
