“If there is anything that can be said about this tutor is that she's dismissive, impatient and great at wasting time. I'm a student taking advanced level mathematics in high school and have just recently came to a conclusion that this teacher does not have sufficient knowledge to help. Before the lesson, she'd ask me to prepare exercises I didn't know to solve so that she could prepare herself. (I sent them in a file through Preply ). 5 minutes before the lesson I get a message from her that she was going to be 15 minutes late . After around ~ 20 minutes she joins the lesson, opens the file I had sent and asks me to solve the exercises in front of her(she believes it is better for the student to approach them first). little did she know I had already attempted a few times. Didn't want to complain so I attempted them again in front of her. I'd come up with a couple solutions which were all immediately dismissed by her. She told me to take time and attempt again. Let me try to make my point clear here; I do not mind spending lots of time thinking on a math problem however I booked a lesson because I needed help, otherwise I wouldn't have done it. And here I am, told to attempt again probably until the lesson ends. What kind of teacher refuses to help the student who PAID MONEY to get the help that he/she needs? What kind of teacher sits and looks at the student struggling and does nothing? What kind of teacher automatically dismisses the student's attempt to solve the exercise? Mind you, I later looked up the exercise on the internet, and it had been done the same way I'd attempted to do it. That way, I spent the entire lesson thinking on this problem without the help of the teacher. Around 5 minutes before the end of the lesson, after I made it clear I needed her help, she finally decided to "help" and wrote down something completely unrelated to the exercise. Little did she know, I saw her search the exercise on google( she was sharing the screen with me) At that moment I died, how hilarious. Overall, she was no help and I did not gain any more knowledge. All she'd do is make weird faces which demonstrated impatience. Waste of time and money.”
