“I worked with David for SAT math prep and thanks to him I was able to score a 780. What stood out immediately was his demeanor which is relaxed and calm yet always straight to business. If you're a parent or student looking for a dependable, professional tutor — especially during high-stakes academic periods — you need to know what happened with David J.before hiring him. We hired David to help support our college-aged son through an extremely challenging science course. From the beginning, we were hopeful. David seemed knowledgeable and our son connected well with him. We invested thousands of dollars and structured our son’s academic plan around his availability and expertise. But what unfolded was both distressing and damaging. David has a pattern of taking time off — even going on vacation during finals, without warning or planning. This wasn’t a one-time emergency. Over multiple terms, he regularly became unavailable at the most critical moments. But the final straw was this past term: he completely disappeared right before finals, leaving our son with no academic support and no clarity on what was going on. There was no warning, no gradual reduction in sessions — just silence. David ignored multiple messages from both my son and me. He left my son hanging for weeks, unsure whether or not David would show up. During this time, our son was under intense stress, still hoping for guidance, and spiraling deeper into anxiety and academic uncertainty. When someone is in a mentorship or tutoring role — especially at this price point — communication is the bare minimum. David didn’t even meet that. He made no attempt to check in, offer referrals, make up missed time, or be accountable in any way. The silence was total. As a direct result, our son was forced to withdraw from the course, which he will now have to retake. The emotional toll of this betrayal of trust — combined with the financial loss and the academic delay — has had a significant impact on our family. This isn’t just about a missed session. It’s about a complete failure of professional ethics, responsibility, and care.When someone commits to guiding a student through a difficult class, especially one that determines academic advancement, they must show up — consistently and especially when the pressure is highest. David didn’t. He vanished when it counted most — and worse, he has a history of doing so. Our son didn’t just lose a tutor. He lost trust in the academic support system. He questioned whether asking for help was worth it. That is not the lesson any young person should be left with. To be clear: David J. may understand the content, but he is not dependable, not communicative, and not professionally responsible. If you are considering hiring him, especially for a student who needs structure, follow-through, and reliability — we strongly urge you to look elsewhere. You cannot afford to be abandoned during finals.”

“My son met up with David 5 weeks into his AP Calculus class. He knew about some things but pretty fuzzy and uncertain about a lot of concepts.
